Cyanco Receives Union Pacific’s Pinnacle Transportation Award
Cyanco has been recognized for its 2019 transportation safety performance with the Union Pacific (UP) Railroad Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Award.
This annual award honors companies for successfully implementing prevention and corrective plans to eliminate Non-Accident Releases (NARs) for shipments of regulated hazardous materials. To be eligible for the award, a company must ship at least 100 rail cars during the year and have ZERO NARs. Last year, we shipped almost 600 rail cars from Winnemucca, NV and over 80 cars from Alvin, TX with the UP to our terminals in Canada, Wyoming and Mexico – with zero incidents.
This milestone represents a lot of continuous improvement work by our entire supply chain to develop systems that ensure adherence to proper safety procedures. This includes proper preparation of railcars full of product to meet customer orders – and the return of the empty equipment to our manufacturing plants.
Thank you to the Cyanco team for their continued dedication to safety and environmental awareness!
